We are Hiring!
We are currently hiring teachers for our online university. This page includes tips for creating an introductory video to accompany your application.
TIPS FOR CREATING YOUR INTRODUCTORY VIDEO
Tip #1: Do not chew gum during your video. This is very distracting to the viewer. It might sound like a no-brainer, but believe it or not it has happened.
Tip #2: If you are using a hand-held device (such as holding your phone in your hand) to record your video, try leaning your phone against a stack of books, or better yet use a tripod stand to hold your phone steady while you are recording. This eliminates the shaky hand giveaway that makes your video look unprofessional since your image keeps moving in and out of range.
Tip #3: If you are using a handheld device, make sure you use it in a horizontal orientation, to create a wider view of your background. Vertically recorded videos leave a black abyss on either side of your image that also looks unprofessional in playback.
